This is a new category which commenced last season 2006/07 and due mainly to our efforts in targeting local first schools and attracting children to hockey at an early stage.

Coaching for all Juniors (Boys & Girls) Under the age of 9 is held every Monday & Wednesday from 5.15pm to 6.30 pm .

All juniors coached on basic skills but, and mainly due to safety concerns, these young stars of the future do not compete against each other but are rewarded at the end of each session with friendly mini hockey games.

The best Under 6's, and those whom we obviously see fit, might also be invited to play randomly for any of the teams in the Under 9 league.

Although our Youth Programme is now into its sixth year and all teams are composed both of girls and boys, we have traditionally had more boys than girls playing hockey.

This year we are going to launch a campaign in January 2008 to commence a league for girls only, between the ages of 8 and 12. All girls enrolling in this competition will receive a free hockey stick and hopefully we will be able to mirror our efforts with the boys.
