2009 U16 League & Cup winners

This category has been running for a number of years now (commenced season 2003/04). Coaching for all Juniors (Boys & Girls) Under the age of 16 is held every Monday & Wednesday from 5.15pm to 6.30 pm. All juniors coached on basic skills by our team of Youth Coaches from September to December. Then all kids are drafted into teams and they play a competitive league from January to Easter and then a cup competition from April to June. Our top Under 16 youngsters are also invited to attend training sessions with any of the local men’s & ladies teams thus slowly introducing them to senior hockey. A selection of the best Under 16 boys also play as a Team (Barclays Wealth) in the local weekend LADIES LEAGUE. This has been going on for a few years and has proved a success.

Wednesday 20th May - ONE DAY CUP COMPETITION - ( 4-A-SIDE) - RULES WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE SHORTLY

Wednesday 27th May - ONE DAY CUP COMPETITION - ( 7-A-SIDE across main pitch) & END OF SEASON TROPHY PRESENTATION

BOYS YOUTH LEAGUE RULES:

1. Players will have to been sixteen as at the 31st December of 2008.
2. Under 16 games played as two period of 10 minutes on full small pitch.
3. Under 16 league games played with goalkeeper & full sized goal.
4. Under 16 league games played with with all short corners taken as a one on one with keeper & with 10 seconds time limit.
5. All games will be umpired by one senior umpire.
6. Green card: verbal warning.
7. Yellow card: Out for rest of game (or minimum of 5 minutes).
8. Red card: Out for rest of the days matches (or minimum of 2 matches) & penalty one-on-one awarded to opposing team.
9. Absolutely no appealing should be or will be tolerated.
10. Roll on, Roll off substitutes.
11. Six players & one keeper on the field and up to 4 substitutes allowed.
